Project Officer for Active Citizenship and Gendered Social Entitlements: The case of Lebanon, Egypt and Palestine (ACGEN)

 

 

CRTD.A is recruiting a Project Officer (PO) to support its action-research project Active Citizenship and Gendered Social Entitlements: The case of Lebanon, Egypt and Palestine (ACGEN) and its related activities.

With the aim of increasing women’s active citizenship and access to social entitlements (namely, healthcare, education, welfare), the ACGEN project seeks to place the issue of active citizenship and gendered social entitlements on the agenda of NGOs/CSOs as well as state institutions. This will be done through a comprehensive capacity building programme for NGOs and an advocacy effort aimed at promoting women’s active citizenship in three countries of the region.

Within this context, CRTD.A is in the process of launching in Lebanon a complementary outreach project over a period of six months.  The project is envisaged as a key tool for information sharing and dissemination, for communication and for lobbying and advocacy work aiming at raising awareness on Social Entitlements and Basic Rights as well as at inducing policy dialogue. 

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

 

*     Assist in organizing workshops/seminars/consultative meetings with CRTD.A local partners (both NGOs and government institutions)

*     Field follow-up on current activities related to ACGEN

*     Provide administrative and logistical support to ACGEN

*     Report writing and project monitoring

*     Participate in the development of ACGEN’s activities

Needed Skills:

*     At least two years of hands-on experience in development work within the context of NGOs or related organizational setting

*     Good understanding of social development and the NGO field

*     Experience in organizing national and/or local events

*     Strong command of English and Arabic and good writing and computer skills. French is a plus

*     Commitment to working for gender equality and social justice

*     Good interpersonal skills and proven capacity to work within a team

Terms:

*     The position is offered on a part time basis and for a period of six months.
