Eco and Rural Tourism Coordinator Terms of Reference

 

AFDC is looking for a coordinator for its eco and rural tourism program. Under the supervision of the AFDC Conservation Coordinator, the selected applicant is expected to handle coordination and managerial tasks related to different eco and rural tourism activities currently implemented by AFDC. In particular, the selected applicant is expected to be responsible for the implementation of the following tasks:

Ø        Management and follow up of program implementation;

Ø        Preparation and facilitation of preparation of needed technical and financial reports related to projects’ implementation under this program;

Ø        Development, and help developing of project documents and programs;

Ø        Design and implementation of eco and rural tourism projects and activities including planning, capacity building, establishing of institutional arrangements, marketing and promotion and site restoration and development.

Ø        Organization of field visits to project sites (in Lebanon) to follow up projects’ implementation; (It requires working during weekends sometimes)

Ø        Travel outside Lebanon to attend meetings, training activities, and be involved in building needed partnerships related to the program;

Ø        Implementation of other tasks as requested by management.

 

Qualifications

The selected applicant is expected to have the following qualifications:

Ø        University degree in a related field

Ø        Minimum of 3 years of experience working in community development. This includes experience working in developing small and medium size entrepreneurship and product development and promotion

Ø        Understanding of development and sustainability issues

Ø        Ability to work independently and as a team member

Ø        Excellent organizational, leadership, interpersonal and communication skills

Ø        Proved English and Arabic language proficiency, French is a plus.
