Development Gateway Announcing Seven Local Consultation Workshops
on “Knowledge 4
Social Development” K4SD
(16/8/2004)
CRTD.A plans to organise within the next two months
or so, around 7 consultative local workshops in various
parts of the country, stretching from Tyre to Tripoli.
Similarly to the National Workshop, which was held
on 14-15 July in Beirut, these seven events will principally
aim at exploring the e-knowledge readiness and needs
of various local development actors at the grassroots
and community level.
The workshops will be attended by local social development
actors namely; interested local public institutions,
municipalities, NGOs and members of the business community,
youth clubs, local women groups...

Lebanon Development Gateway
Public Communication (12/3/2004)
CRTD-A
is implementing the LDG project with the support
of the Development Gateway Foundation (a World
Bank initiated organisation based in Washington).
The project aims at increasing the access of a
diverse range of local development actors (from
government, NGO and private sectors) to relevant
gender and social development information in Arabic
as well as catalyzing and facilitating various
fora for dialogue and collaboration between these
actors. The project will also entail a number
of associated supporting activities.

Development Gateway's Petersberg
Prize (17/11/2003)
The
Petersberg Prize is a programme that honors individuals
or organization for their achievement in the field
of ICT for development.
The prize (100,000 Euros ) will be awarded at the
next Development Gateway forum scheduled to be held
in mid-2004. Nominations are due by February 1,
2004.

Lebanon Development Gateway
(LDG) Project Officer (19/9/2003)
The
Lebanon Development Gateway is a new CRTD/IRIS initiative
that aims at fostering sustainable development in
Lebanon through the usage of ICT technologies. The
post holder shall be responsible for the implementation
of all the activities of the first phase of the
project according to a set work plan with clear
deliverables. Excellent ICT skills and key information
technology trends are needed in addition to fluency
in spoken and written English and Arabic.
