ACCEPT Gender & Organizational Change
Beirut, October 2003

Twenty two participants from 7 Arab countries took part in this workshop the final output of which was the development of a organisational plan for gender mainstreaming using the ACCEPT framework.

This document is intended to serve as an aide-mémoire for the participants as well as a generic tool for gender mainstreaming and gender and organisational change.

Participants wishing to implement the plans they have developed during the course of this workshop may contact CRTD fur further assistance (info@crtd.org).

CRTD will also be facilitating communication and exchange of learning and experience amongst the workshop participants.

The ACCEPT method will have two phases: learning - using case studies - and applying to organisations you choose.

ACCEPT is not a demand, of you or your organisation, it is an acronym for a framework for planning and for presentation of the plan to your colleagues, or to a board or other decision-makers. The framework is a way of organising your thoughts, analysing data, fact and information, and creating a structured planning process. It liberates creativity, develops teamwork, and builds on existing know-how. It should enable you to focus on key issues, understand the needs of the people you are talking to, and communicate your plan clearly, so that it is acceptable and accepted, which in turn enhances your own confidence.
