Focal areas of interest

·Law: signing the Agreement for women; eliminating discrimination in the penal law and the personal affairs law and the law of agricultural relations and the law of insurance and compensations and the social security law and the penal law regarding violence against women
·Social status: struggle against poverty; imputing information about the distribution of the national income according to the national systems of accounting; targeting rural women in projects; emphasizing the participation of women in food production and food security; targeting people with disability and elderly people
·Environmental protection: implementing and monitoring laws and legislation pertaining to environmental protection; limiting pollution; increasing the rate of participation of women in planning and increasing awareness and training and achieving a balance between population growth and natural resources and supporting family planning
·Media: targeting negative stereotyping; raising the level of awareness; raising the level of participation of women
·Decision-making: achieving 30% participation rate of women; establishing a women’s research center within the Women’s Union
·Economics: providing equal opportunities for access to land and financing; training on technological skills; developing statistical systems; introducing new agricultural services in rural areas
·Education: revision of curriculum; targeting of elementary education to incorporate 90% of the children; limiting school dropout rates; providing professional and technical training; and providing adult education
·Human rights: establishing mechanisms for coordination among community organizations and professionals and labor unions; monitoring of human rights
·Health: expansion of infrastructure and improving the quality of health care; limiting maternal mortality by 25%; limiting fertility to become less than 5 children per woman; training health workers; raising the level of awareness
